அரசாங்கத்தின் அனுசரணையுடன் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டுவரும் அனைத்து தேர்தல் வன்முறைச் சம்பவங்களுக்கும் ஜனாதிபதி மகிந்த ராஜபக்ஷ முழுமையாக பொறுப்பு கூறவேண்டும் என முன்னாள் ஜனாதிபதி சந்திரிக்கா பண்டாரநாயக்க குமாரதுங்க தெரிவித்தார்.
இன்று காலை மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டக் குண்டுத் தாக்குதலினால் சேதமடைந்த ஸ்ரீலங்கா சுதந்திரக் கட்சியின் மக்கள் பிரிவின் செயலாளர் டிரான் அலஸின் வீட்டைப் பார்வையிடுவதற்கு சென்றபோதே முன்னாள் ஜனாதிபதி சந்திரிக்கா இதனைத் தெரிவித்தார்.
ஜனநாயக விரும்பிகள் எவராலும் இவ்வாறான செயல்களை அனுமதிக்க முடியாது எனக் குறிப்பிட்ட சந்திரிக்கா குமாரதுங்க, தேர்தல் வன்முறைச் சம்பவங்களுக்கு எதிராக ஜனநாயக வழிநடக்கும் அனைவரும் ஒன்றிணைய வேண்டும் எனக் கூறினார்.
