The killingof Kishanji by the Indian military forces has to be condemned by all democraticpeople and organisations. Indian Workers Association – GB does exactly that. Theemerging details are revealing a very different picture to the one of anencounter given by the Indian security forces. The emerging reality is movingaway from their story and one of arrest, torture and faked encounter is comingto fore.
MallojulaKoteswar Rao, alias Kishanji, a politburo member of the CPI (Maoist), was a fighter for the rights of the downtrodden, the tribals, the dalits, poor peasantry and the working class. He ledthe people who suffered chronic exploitation, who have been forgotten by thepublic politicians and ignored by the corporate media. The three decade longwar he fought against the rulers of India who only serve to strengthen the richland lords, the monopoly capitalist and the multi-national corporations, wasone which could only have lasted for so long due to his closeness with thepeople he fought for. He was indeed a fish in the sea of people, which sustainedhis revolutionary life for such a long period.
IWA-GBgives full backing to the growing number of voices that are demanding a fulljudicial enquiry into the killing of Kishanji. The police authorities must dothe decent thing and register the FIR as precursor to a fair investigation intohis death by an independent body.
