“இந்த நாடு குறித்த உண்மை என்னவென்றால், வெற்றிக்கான வாய்ப்புக்கள் அதிகம் காணப்படுகிறது என்பதே. ஏனென்றால் போர் முடிந்துவிட்டது, பயங்கராவாதம் முறியடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது, சண்டை முடிந்துவிட்டது. இப்போது என்ன தேவைப்படுகிறது என்றால் நாட்டை ஒன்றுபடுத்துவதற்கு இலங்கை அரசிடமிருந்து பெருந்தன்மையும் சகிப்புத் தன்மையுமே’ என்று யாழ்ப்பானத்தில் கூறியது பிரித்தானியப் பிரதமர் டேவிட் கமரன். உலகின் மிகப்பெரும் ஏகபோக நாடுகளில் ஒன்றும் உலகம் முழுவதும் காலனியாதிக்கத்தை நிறுவி இன்றைய அவலங்களுக்கான வித்தை விதைத்தவர்களுமான பிரித்தானியாவின் பிரதமர் யாழ்ப்பாணத்தின் அகதி முகாம் மற்றும் தெருக்களில் சாமான்யர்களோடு உரையாடியதை தமிழ் ஊடடங்கள் மட்டுமல்ல பிரித்தானிய ஊடகங்களும் தலைப்புச் செய்திகளாக வெளியிட்டன.
பிரித்தானியப் பிரதமர் தனது நாட்டைவிட்டுப் புறப்படும் போது ராஜபக்ச அரசின் போர்க்குற்றங்கள் மீதான சர்வதேச சுயாதீன விசாரணையைக் கோரப்போவதாக தமிழ் அமைப்புக்களுக்கு உறுதியளித்திருந்தார். ஆனால் யாழ்ப்பாணத்தில் போர்க்குற்றத்தை பயங்கரவாத ஒழிப்பாகப் பிரகடனப்படுத்தியிருக்கிறார். அது நடந்ததை வெற்றியென மேலும் கூறும் டேவிட் கமரன் அதற்குப் பின்னர் என்ன செய்யவேண்டும் என்றும் மிகத் தெளிவாகக் கூறுகிறார்; இலங்கை அரசாங்கம் ‘பெருந்தன்மையோடு நடந்து ஒருமைப்பாட்டை ஏற்படுத்தவேண்டும் என்கிறார்.
ஆக, கமரன் இனக்கொலை, போர்க்குற்றம், மனித குலத்தின் மீதான வன்முறை ஆகிய அனைத்தையும் இலங்கை அரசாங்கத்தின் வெற்றியெனக் கூச்சலிடுகிறார். இதன் மறுபுறத்தில் இனிமேல் தமிழ்ப் பேசும் மக்கள் உரிமைக்காகப் போராடினால் அது பயங்கரவாதம் என்றும் அதனை அழிப்பதற்கான உரிமையை இலங்கை அரசிற்கு வழங்க வேண்டும் என்றும் கூறுகின்றார். இன்னொரு முறை இலங்கை அரசாங்கம் இனப்படுகொலை செய்தாலும் அது பயங்கரவாதத்தின் மீதான வெற்றி எபன்தே கமரனின் கருத்தாகவிருக்கும்.
மேலும் தொடரும் கமரன், ‘நான் எண்ணுகிறேன் இங்குவந்தது, மக்களின் பேசுவதும் விவாதங்களை கேட்பதும் அவர்களின் நிலைமை மீதான கவனத்தைத் திருப்புவதற்கு உதவியாகவிருக்கும். இலங்கை மக்கள் மீது வெளிச்சம் காட்டப்பட்டுள்ளது, இப்போது எது சரி எது பிழை என்பதை மக்கள் இலகுவில் புரிந்துகொள்ள முடியும்.’ என்கிறார்.
உலகம் முழுவதும் ஆங்காங்கு இலங்கை அரசின் ‘மனித உரிமை மீறல்’ குறித்த முணுமுணுப்புக்கள் கேட்டாலும் அதனோடு கூடவே பயங்கரவாதத்தை அழிக்கும் போதே மனித உரிமைகள் மீறப்பட்டதாக கமரனின் கூற்றுக்களோடு இணைந்தே அவை ஒலிக்கின்றன.
பிரித்தானியாவில் பல்தேசிய பெரு வணிக நிறுவனங்களின் கோப்ரட் வரியை 25 வீதமாகக் குறைக்கவேண்டும் என்று தேர்தல் பிரச்சாரத்தின் போது கூறி ஆட்சிக்குவந்தவர் கமரன். பல்தேசியப் பெரு நிறுவனங்களின் வரியை அதிகரிக்க வேண்டும் என்று எட் மிலிபாண்ட் ஒரு பேச்சுக்குச் சொன்னதைக்கூட கமரனால் சகித்துக்கொள்ள முடியவில்லை. ‘ஜகுவார் லாண்ட் ரோவர் இப்போது உலகை வெற்றிகொள்ளும் கார்களைத் தயாரிக்கின்றன, அவற்றின் வரியை அதிகரிக்க வேண்டும் என்று கூறும் மிலிபாண்ட் முட்டாள் என்றவர் கமரன். ஐரோப்பாவில் ஆட்சிக்கு வருகின்ற எந்தக் கட்சியும் கொப்ரட் வணிக நிறுவனங்களின் அடியாட்கள் போன்றே செயலாற்றுகின்றன.
ஆக, இலங்கையை என்றதும் கமரனுக்குப் தோன்றிய எண்ணங்கள் வியப்புக்குரியவை அல்ல.
1. இலங்கையில் இனிமேல் உரிமை போராட்டம் என்று எதுவும் நடைபெறக்கூடாது.
2. போர்க்குற்றம் இனக்கொலை போன்றவற்றைப் பேசும் அரசியலை நிறுத்திக்கொள்வோம்.
3. மக்கள் பட்டினியாலோ கொலைசெய்யப்பட்டோ செத்துப்போனலும் உள் நாட்டுக் கொந்தளிப்பு ஏற்படக்கூடாது.
4. இவை நடந்தால் தனது பல்தேசிய வியாபார எஜமானர்கள் முதலிட்டு சுரண்டிக்கொள்ள வாய்புக்களை வழங்கும்.
இதற்காக அவர் சொல்லும் செய்தி இதுதான்:
1. இதுவரை நடந்த தன்னுரிமைக்கான போராட்டம் பயங்கரவாதம்.
2. இனிமேல் யாரும் ‘பயங்கரவாதப் போரட்டத்தை’ நடத்த முடியாது.
3. அப்படிப் போராடினால் அதனை அழித்து வெற்றிகொள்ள இலங்கை அரசிற்கு ஆதரவு வழங்க்கப்படும்.
4. அப்படி இனிமேல் போராட்டம் உருவாகாமலிருக்க இலங்கை அரசு பண்புடன் நடந்துகொள்ள வேண்டும்.
இதற்குமேல் எதுவும் கிடையாது.
டேவிட் கமரன் இலங்கை செல்லும் போது நுறு பிரித்தானிய பல்தேசிய நிறுவனங்களை அழைத்துச் சென்றுள்ளதாகவும் அவற்றில் பல அவரது கட்சிக்குப் பணம் வழங்கும் நிறுவனங்கள் என்பதும் பிரித்தானிய ஆங்கில ஊடகங்களில் வெளியான செய்தி. கமரன் இலங்கையை விட்டு வெளியேறும் போது அத்தனை அழுத்தங்களையும் பிரயோகிக்க, ராஜபக்ச அரசு அடிபணிந்து ஒப்பந்தங்களை வழங்குவதைத் தவிர வேறு வழிகள் இல்லை.
கமரனும் ஏகாதிபத்திய நாடுகளும் அதன் கூறுகளான ஐ.எம்.எப், உலக வங்கி போன்றன உயர்கல்வியைத் தனியார் மயமாகக்க இலங்கை அரசைக் கோரிவந்தன. ராஜபக்ச அரசு அவற்றிற்குத் தனது விசுவாசத்தைக் காட்டுவதற்கு இளவரசர் சார்ள்சின் அரவணைப்பில் முதல் தனியார் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தை இலங்கையில் ஆரம்பிக்கிறது. பிரித்தானியாவில் கல்வி உரிமைக்காக நாளாந்தம் போராடும் மாணவர்களின் உணர்வுகளை மிதித்துக்கொண்டு சார்ள்ஸ் பிரித்தானியப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தை 75 மிலியன் பவுண்ஸ் முதலீட்டோரு அங்குரார்பணம் செய்கிறார். படிபடியாக நாட்டின் கல்வி அழிக்கப்பட்டு பணம்படைத்த உயர்குடிகளுக்கான விற்பனைப் பொருளாகக் கல்வி மாறிவிடும். ஆக. கல்வியை விற்பனை செய்வதற்கான கமரனின் பேரம் பயங்கரவாதத்தின் மீதான இன்னொரு வெற்றி.
இதுவரை நடந்த மக்களின் போராட்டங்கள் அழிக்கப்பட்டதைப் பயங்கரவாதம் எனக் கூறும் டேவிட் கமரன் இனிமேல் அது நடந்தலும் பயங்கரவாதமே என்பதை மறைமுகமாகக் கூறுகிறார். மக்களைப் போராடக்கூடாது என்று மிரட்டுகிறார்.
இவை குறித்தெல்லாம் இலங்கையின் எந்த மூலையிலிருந்தும் குரல்கள் எழவில்லை. தமிழ்ப் பேசும் மக்கள் மத்தியில் சுயநிர்ணய உரிமைக்காகப் போராடும் புரட்சிகர அரசியல் தலமையின் அவசரத் தேவையை இது உணர்துகிறது. சிங்கள, தமிழ், முஸ்லிம் மக்கள் மத்தியிலான பெரும்பான்மை உழைக்கும் மக்களின் இணைவு கூட இங்கிருந்து ஆரம்பமாகலாம்.
தெருவெங்கும் அவலக்குரலோடு கமரனின் பின்னால் அலைந்த மக்களின் நம்பிக்கை பிரித்தனிய கோப்ரட் நிறுவனங்களுக்கு முதலீடாக்கப்படும். இனிமேல் போராடினால் அது பயங்கரவாதம் என்று மக்களை மிரட்டியதைக்கூட பொருட்படுத்தாத பிழைப்புவாத அரசியல் தலைவர்கள் சம்பந்தன் சுமந்திரன் விக்னேஸ்வரன் ஆகியோர் தமது ஏகாதிபத்திய எஜமானனோடு உலாவந்ததில் மகிழ்ச்சியடைந்துள்ளனர்.
மொத்ததில் காட்டிக்கொடுக்கப்பட்டது மக்களும் சுயநிர்ணய உரிமைக்கான சிறுபான்மைத் தேசிய இனங்களின் போராட்டமுமே ஆகும். இலங்கையில் வாழ்கின்ற மக்கள் பற்றுள்ள ஒவ்வொரு மனிதனும் மக்களை அணிதிரட்டுவதற்கான புதிய வழிமுறைகளைக் கண்டறிந்துகொள்வதும் அவற்றிற்கான அவதானமான பணியை ஆரம்பிப்பதுமே இன்றைய கடமை. அழிந்து சரிந்துகொண்டிருக்கும் பிரித்தானிய ஏகாதிபத்தியத்திற்கு எதிராகவும், பெரும்பன்மை உழைக்கும் மக்களுக்காகவும், சுய நிர்ணைய உரிமைக்காகவும் உலகம் முழுவதும் போராடும் ஜனநாயக முற்போக்கு சக்திகள் சுய நிர்ணைய உரிமைக்கான தமிழ்ப் பேசும் மக்களின் மக்கள் சார்ந்த போராட்டத்திற்கு ஆதரவு வழங்கத் தயாரகவுள்ளனர்.

CHOGM Sri Lanka is a personal achievement for Kamalesh Sharma and a political victory for the Rajapaksa brothers and their government. Whether the achievement will be sustainable and victory will not be a pyrrhic one, remains to be seen. In the coming year, Mr. Sharma will have to deal with the threats of funding cuts by Britain and Canada, and as he struggles to keep his Secretariat solvent he may not get much support from his natal Indian government in the throes of an election. Although it was not his fault, Mr. Sharma suffered the ignominy of having his summit boycotted by his own Prime Minister.
For the government of Sri Lanka, the Commonwealth aftermath would be like after a wedding massively gone overboard – huge debts to pay and old scores still to settle. The new status as Chair of the Commonwealth will make no difference to its tattered status before the UNHRC in Geneva. The litany over the LLRC recommendations will start all over again. There will be an air of poignancy in future discussions of the LLRC recommendations following the untimely death of the LLRC Chairman, Mr. C. R. de Silva. It says something of the man, given all the President’s other men, that having chaired the LLRC he declined the offer to be nominated as a tainted Chief Justice. The President graced the occasion of Mr. de Silva’s funeral, but the President and his government must know that the only way to honour the memory of C.R. de Silva is to implement fully the recommendations of his Commission. That is also the only way for the government to restore postwar normalcy and address the questions about war crimes.

Gota slams Cameron for politicking in Colombo to placate LTTE rump back home
Rajapaksa said: “Some former members of the LTTE responsible for atrocities committed here are now living in the UK and other EU countries. Today they are British passport holders. One-time British High Commission employee, LTTE theoretician Anton Balasingham’s wife, Adele, now lives in the UK. Her role in recruiting teenage girls into the ranks of the LTTE is well documented. In spite of us bringing the presence of LTTE personnel to the notice of the British government, the administration is yet to take action.”
The Defence Secretary said that successive UK governments had collaborated with Tamil terrorist groups beginning early 80s; hence the UK couldn’t absolve itself of responsibility for the terrorism here. Premier Cameron couldn’t be unaware of the LTTE having its International Secretariat in the UK which coordinated procurement of arms, ammunition and equipment for many years.
“Today, funds raised abroad are exclusively used to destabilize Sri Lanka. A section of the British political establishment is working closely with the LTTE rump. A case in point is former Labour Party minister Joan Ryan joining the GTF as its policy advisor.”
The UK had no option but to proscribe the LTTE in the UK due to the situation getting out of hand there. In spite of that the LTTE remained active and aggressively campaign against Sri Lanka until the conclusion of the conflict in May 2009, the Defence Secretary said.
Those now leading the GTF, BTF as well as Tamils against Genocide always represented the interests of the LTTE. Therefore it would be the responsibility on the part of the Cameron government to explain the circumstances under which such groups had access to British parliament.
The Defence Secretary alleged that the latest British threat was meant to destabilize the country. Under President Rajapaksa’s leadership, the government was able to finish off the LTTE in three years paving the way for unprecedented economic revival in the Northern and Eastern Provinces. The country could move forward without Premier Cameron’s help.

David Cameron has defended his decision to attend the Commonwealth summit in Sri Lanka, saying his duty was to “deal with, not ignore” controversial issues.
In a statement to Parliament, the prime minister said a process of “justice, closure and healing” was needed in the country after decades of civil war.
Sri Lanka must begin an inquiry into alleged war crimes by March or face international intervention, he said.
But Ed Miliband said the UK government “could not let the matter rest”.
The Labour leader questioned whether Mr Cameron had been right to attend after a boycott by the Canadian and Indian leaders.

The details have emerged a day after Northern Ireland’s Attorney General, John Larkin, suggested ending any prosecutions over troubles-related killings that took place before the signing of the Good Friday Agreement in 1998. The former members of the
Military Reaction Force have said that their group consisted of about 40 men handpicked from across the British Army.
Three former members of the unit have said they had posed as Belfast City Council road sweepers, dustmen and even “meths drinkers”, carrying out surveillance from street gutters. One of the soldiers said they had also fired on suspected IRA members.
Another former member of the unit has said that they never wore uniform and very few people knew what rank anyone was anyway.
In 1972 there were more than 10,600 shootings in Northern Ireland.
The former members have said that it is not possible to say how many the unit was involved in. The MRF’s operational records have been destroyed and its former members refused to incriminate themselves or their comrades in specific incidents. But they have admitted shooting and killing unarmed civilians.

Stanley told MPs: “If I may be presumptuous and bring God down to earth for a moment, I ask the prime minister and his fellow ministers to address arms exports and internal repression in Sri Lanka.
“I do not need to recite the appalling human rights abuses that have taken place in Sri Lanka. I strongly support the prime minister in his calls for an international independent inquiry.
“However, against that human rights background, the house will wish to consider the British government’s arms export licence approvals in just nine months of last year. They included 100 pistols, 130 rifles, 210 combat shotguns, 600 assault rifles, unknown quantities of small arms ammunition and unknown quantities of machine guns.
“I hope that the minister will not say that these were all for counter-piracy, because I do not find that a credible answer, particularly when combined with the complete list of the 49 extant arms export approved licences to Sri Lanka.”
More than £8m of weapons were legally exported to Sri Lanka in 2012, which is not subject to an arms embargo but classed as a country of concern by the UK government.

எவ்வெறெனினும்இ யுத்தக் குற்றச் செயல்கள் குறித்த சர்வதேச விசாரணைகளுக்காக பிரதமர் விடுத்த கோரிக்கைக்கு பூரண ஆதரவளிப்பதாகத் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
