பிரித்தானிய பிரதமர் டேவிட் கமரனைச் சந்திக்க முனைந்த மக்கள் மீது இலங்கை அரச உளவுப்படைகள் தாக்குதல் நடத்தியுள்ளன. காணாமல் போனவர்களை மீட்டுத்தருமாறு பதாகைகளுடன் நடந்த அமைதியான ஆர்ப்பாட்டத்தின் மீது இலங்கை பாசிச அரசின் உளவுப்படைகள் தாக்குதல் நடத்தின. பின்னதாக டேவிட் கமரன் பயணம் செய்த வாகனத் தொடரணியை மக்கள் சூழ்ந்துகொண்டு அவலக் குரலில் கண்ணீர்வடித்தனர். இத்தகவலை பிரித்தானியப் பத்திரிகைகள் அனைத்தும் பதிவு செய்துள்ளன. இவை அனைத்தையும் பார்த்தபின்னர் டேவிட் கமரன், “பயங்கரவாதம் அழிக்கப்பட்டுவிட்டது, சண்டை முடிந்து விட்டது, போர் நிறைவடைந்து ஆக நாடு வெற்றிப்பாதையில் செல்வதற்கான வாய்ப்புகள் உள்ளன. நாட்டை ஒற்றுமைப்படுத்த இலங்கை அரசு பெருந்தன்மையுடன் செயற்பட வேண்டும்” என்று குறிப்பிட்டார். மனிதர்கள் சாரிசாரியாகப் புதைக்கப்பட்ட மண்ணிலிருந்து தனது பல்தேசிய வியாபாரிகளோடு இலங்கை அரசு பெருந்தன்மையோடு நாட்டை ஒற்றுமைப்படுத்துவது குறித்துப் பேசும் கமரனின் செய்திகளை எமது தமிழ் ஊடகங்கள் மக்களிடமிருந்து மறைத்துள்ளன. போலி நம்பிக்கைகளை மக்களுக்கு வழங்கி அவர்களைப் போராடவிடாமல் தடுத்து ராஜபக்ச உட்பட அதிகாரவர்க்கத்திற்குச் சேவை செய்யும் ‘தமிழ் இனவாதிகள்’ ஆபத்தானவர்கள். தமிழ் தலைமைகள் டேவிட் கமரன் தங்கத்தட்டில் தமிழீழம் பெற்றுத்தருவார் என்ற பாணியில் தமது வியாபாரத்தை ஆரம்பித்துவிட்டன.

Extended holiday for Jaffna u’grads to prevent protests

Security authorities are on alert following reports of pro-LTTE elements planning a large scale protest in Jaffna next week, to commemorate slain LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran’s birthday, which falls on November 26.
A senior security official told The Island that an attempt was being made to involve undergraduates of the Jaffna University in the protest early next week. Responding to a query, the official alleged that several university workers were involved in clandestine preparations for the protest. “We have identified those planning the protest campaign. Some of them are exerting pressure on the university administration to re-open the university immediately.”
Although a 10-day vacation was declared from Nov. 8 to facilitate their participation in various events related to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), the Jaffna University was given an extended holiday till Dec. 2.
The official alleged that a few trouble makers had been agitating for the resumption of classes so the undergraduates could be influenced to join next week’s protest. Asked whether the government was concerned about the possible outbreak of large scale student protests in Jaffna, the official pointed out that parents of those studying in Jaffna wouldn’t allow them to join such activities. The move was meant to cause a major confrontation in Jaffna close on the heels of British Prime Minister David Cameron’s whistle stop visit to Jaffna last Friday, he said.
The government wouldn’t allow anyone, under any circumstances, to whip up separatist sentiments by staging protests or any other activity to commemorate Prabhakaran’s birthday, the official said.
While Prabhakaran was alive, the LTTE used to issue a policy statement at the end of week-long LTTE celebrations in late November. The last such statement was issued in November 2008, several weeks before the fall of Elephant Pass.

You all saw Chief Minister Vigneswaran with the Vel (Spear) from the Skanda Devi – Lord Muruga – of Kathirgamam – Kataragama. Dutugemunu also worshiped there before he set out north to reunite the country. His elephant named Kandula was caught while drinking water in the Menik Ganga – Manikka Gangaiahn. The pacification process is not yet over. It is Three Yards Sticks after 1958. So, we especially the University students have to hold their horses.
