அமைச்சரின் யாழ் அலுவலகத்தில் இன்று மாலை நடைபெற்ற பத்திரிகையாளர் மாநாட்டிலேயே இதனை அவர் குறிப்பிட்டார். வடக்கு மாகாண சபைத் தேர்தலில் முதலைமைச்சர் வேட்பாளராக நானே போட்டியிடவுள்ளேன் எனது விருப்பத்திற்கு மாறாக அரசாங்கம் செயற்படாது தேர்தலில் யார் வேண்டும் என்றாலும் போட்டியிடலாம்.
கே.பி போட்டியிடலாம் கி.பியும் போட்டியிடலாம் ஆனால் மக்களின் தீர்மானமே இறுதியானது ஆகையால் நானே வட மாகாண முதலமைச்சர் என உறுதியாக தெரிவித்தார்.
