வெலிவெரிய படுகொலைகளின் பின்னர் நீரில் நச்சுத் தன்மை கலந்திருப்பதாக கண்டறியப்பட்டுளதக ஊடகங்கள் செய்தி வெளியிட்டுள்ளன. மக்கள் தாமாகவே முன்வந்து தமது வாழ்வுரிமைக்காகப் போராடும் இவ்வாறான நிலைமைகளில் அரசுகள் அச்சமடைகின்றன. போராட்டங்களை ஒடுக்குவதற்கு இலங்கை அரசு மக்கள் மீது பயங்கரவாதத்தைக் கட்டவிழ்த்து விடுகின்றது. போராட்டங்களை முளையிலேயே கிள்ளியெறியவேண்டும் என்பதற்காக மக்களை அச்சத்திற்கு உட்படுத்துகிறது. அதே வேளை போராட்டங்களை அழிப்பதற்கான அரசியலும் ‘எதிர்ப்பரசியல்’ என்ற பெயரில் முன்னெடுக்கப்படுகின்றது.
மக்கள் மத்தியில் போராட்டங்கள் எழும்போது புரட்சிகர அரசியல் தலைமைகள் உருவாகிவிடக்கூடாது என்ற அச்சத்தில் இந்த அரசியல் முன்னெடுக்கப்படுகின்றது. போராடும் அரசியல் தலைமைகளை முளைடிலேயே அழிக்கும் இந்த செயற்பாடு தமிழ்ப் பேசும் மக்களின் போராட்டத்திலும் ஆரம்பத்திலிருந்தே காணப்பட்டது.
வெலிவேரியாவில் நடைபெற்ற தாக்குதல் சிங்கள மக்கள் மத்தியில் அரசியல் விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்தியது. தமிழ்ப் பேசும் மக்களின் போராட்டம் நியாமானது என்று பலர் உணர்ந்துகொள்ள ஆரம்பித்தனர்.
மக்கள் சார்ந்த அரசியல் உருவாகிவிடுவதற்கு முன்பதாகவே அவர்களை இனிப் போராட வேண்டாம் என்றும் ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையையும் அமரிக்காவையும் நம்பி வீடுகளுள் முடங்கியிருந்தாலே போதும் என பிழைப்புவாத அரசியல் தலைமைகளும் மேட்டுக்குடிகளும் பிரச்சாரத்தில் ஈடுபட ஆரம்பித்துவிட்டனர். இலங்கை அரசிற்கு எதிராக தீவிரமாகப் பேசுவதன தோற்றப்பாட்டை இவர்கள் வழங்கினாலும் இவர்களின் நோக்கம் போராட்டங்களை அழிப்பதே.
வெலிவேரியவை முன்வைத்து நவனீதம் பிள்ளை இலங்கை அரசைத் தண்டிக்கப் போகிறார் என்ற பிரச்சாரங்களை மேற்கொள்ள ஆரம்பித்துவிட்ட இவர்களும் இவர்களின் அடிமைகளான பிழைப்புவாத ஊடகங்களும் மக்களைப் போராடவேண்டாம் என்று மறுபுறத்தில் கோருகின்றனர். அவர்களின் போராட்டங்கள் மீது நம்பிக்கை வைக்காமல் அழிக்கும் அமரிக்காவின் மீதும் அதன் துணைக் கூறுகளான ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபை போன்றவற்றிலும் நம்பிக்கை வைக்குமாறு அழிக்கும் அரசியலுக்குத் துணை போகின்றனர். அரசுகள் வெளிப்படையாகத் தெரியும் மக்களின் எதிரிகள் இவர்கள் மறைமுகமான எதிரிகள்.

Being Sengunthar means something here now because of Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva and Minister Athuallah. Three pockets in the East. Three in the North. Those three guys lead the ways.
