நீதித்துறைக்கும், நிறைவேற்று அதிகாரத்திற்கும் இடையில் கடந்த மூன்று வாரகாலமாக நடைபெற்று வரும் சச்சரவுகளின் பின்னணியில் நீதி சேவைகள் ஆணைக்குழுவின் செயலாளர் மஞ்சுளா திலகரத்ன தாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார். மஞ்சுளா திலகரத்ன தனக்கும், தனது குடும்பத்தவர்களுக்கும் பாதுகாப்பு அச்சறுத்தல் இருப்பதாக கடந்த வார இறுதியில் முறைப்பாடு செய்திருந்தார். நிறைவேற்று அதிகாரத்துக்கும், நீதித்துறைக்கும் இடையில் ஏற்பட்டுள்ள முரண்பாடுகளை முன்வைத்து நீதித்துறை சார்பாக அவர், கடந்த 18ம் திகதி நீதி சேவைகள் ஆணைக்குழுவின் செயலாளர் என்ற முறையில் வெளியிட்டிருந்த அறிக்கையின் பிறகே இந்த சச்சரவுகள் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளன. இந்த அறிக்கையில் நீதித்துறையை நோக்கி முன்னெடுக்கப்படும் தலையீடுகளை அவர் விமர்சித்திருந்தார். மஞ்சுள மீதான தாக்குதலை ராஜபக்ச பாசிச சர்வாதிகாரமே திட்டமிட்டு மிரட்டும் பாணியில் நடத்தியுள்ளது. இந்த நிலையில் கம்யூனிசத்தின் பெயரால் பாசிச ஆட்சியை நியாயப்படுத்திவரும் வாசுதேவ நாணயக்கார அறிக்கை ஒன்றை வெளியிட்டுள்ளார். மஞ்சுள மீதான தாக்குதல் நீதிமன்றக் கட்டமைப்பிற்கும் அரசாங்கத்திற்கும் இடையில் விரிசலை ஏற்படுத்த சிலர் முயற்சித்து வருகின்றனர் என அவர் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.
