பிரித்தானிய இளவரசி டயானாவினதும் அவரது காதல் நண்பனான டோடி அல்பயத்தினதும் மரணம் விபத்து அல்ல கொலையே என்ற தகவல் கிடைக்கபெற்றதைத் தொடர்ந்து ஸ்கொலன்ட் யார்ட் போலிஸ் விசாரணைகளை ஆரம்பித்துள்ளதாகத் தெரிவித்துள்ளது. இராணுவத்தின் முன்னை நாள் முக்கிய அதிகாரி ஒருவரின் மனைவியின் தாய்தந்தையர் டயானாவின் மரணம் கொலை என்ற தகவலை பிரித்தானிய காவல் துறைக்குத் தெரிவித்ததாக ஊடகச் செய்திகள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன. டயானாவினதும் நண்பரதும் கொலையை பிரித்தானிய இராணுவத்திலுள்ள உறுப்பினர் ஒருவரே மேற்கொண்டதாக குறித்த இராணுவ உறுப்பினர் தனது மனைவிக்குக் கூறிய தகவல் இன்று அவர்களிடையேயான கருத்து முரண்பாடுகளின் பின்னர் மனைவின் தாய் தந்தையர் ஊடாக காவல் துறைக்கு வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
1997 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஒகஸ்ட் மாதம் 31 ஆம் திகதி பாரிசின் நகரின் மையப்பகுதியில் பாலம் ஒன்றின் கீழே டோடி யும் டயானவும் விபத்து ஒன்றில் மரணமானதாகத் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டது. பிரித்தானிய பணக்காரர்களில் ஒருவரான டோடி அல் பயட்டின் தந்தை அது விபத்தல்ல கொலை என்பதை தொடர்ச்சியாகக் கூறிவந்தார்.
1997 ஆம் ஆண்டு செப்டெம்பர் மாதத்தின் முதல் வாரம் முழுவதும் டயானாவின் மரணம் பிரித்தானியாவை சோகத்தில் ஆழ்த்தியது, பிரித்தானியாவின் அண்மைக்கால வரலாற்றில் காணாத மக்கள் வெள்ளம் டயானாவிற்கு அஞ்சலி செலுத்தத் தெருக்களில் இறங்கியது. பிரித்தானியா அரச பரம்பரை நூற்றுக்க்ணகான நிகழ்வுகளை இந்த நூற்றாண்டு முழுவதும் நிகழ்த்தியுள்ளது. பிறந்த நாட்கள், மரணச்சடங்குகள், திருமணம் என்று உலகம் முழுவதும் மில்லியன் கணக்கான பணத்தைக் கொட்டி விளம்பரம் செய்து நிகழத்தியிருந்தது. ஆனால் எந்த விளம்பரமுமின்றி. சல்லிக்காசு கூடச் செலவின்றி டயானாவின் மரணத்தின் சோகத்தைப் பகிர்ந்துகொள்ள பிரித்தானியா முழுவதும் கொந்தளித்தது. வரலாறு இதுவரை கண்டிராத கூட்டம் திரண்டது.
டயானா என்ற பெண் அதிகார வர்க்கத்தினுள் ஏற்பட்ட முரண்பாடுகளின் உற்பத்தி என்பதில் யாருக்கும் மாற்றுக் கருத்திருக்க முடியாது.
டயானாவிற்கு ஊடகங்கள் வழங்கிய முக்கியத்துவம் அரச குடும்பத்தவர் ஒருவருக்கு இதுவரை வழங்கப்பட்டதில்லை. ஆரம்பத்தில் தனது கணவர் சார்ள்ஸ் உடனான முரண்பாடுகளையும் தனது மகிழ்ச்சியற்ற திருமண வாழ்க்கையையும் டயானா வெளிப்படையாகவே பேச ஆரம்பித்தார்.தனது திருமண உறவில் மகிழ்ச்சியின்மை தொடர்பாக டயானா வெளிப்படையாகப் பேச ஆரம்பித்ததும், பிரித்தானிய அரச பரம்பரை மட்டுமல்ல அதிகார வர்க்கமும் அதிர்ச்சிக்கு உள்ளானது. பல்தேசிய வியாபார ஊடகங்கள் பரபரப்பிற்காக டயானாவின் செய்திகளை முக்கியத்துவப்படுத்திய அதே வேளை அவரை பாலியல் நோய் கொண்ட பெண்ணைப் போன்று உருவகப்படுத்தின. இரணுவ அதிகாரி ஒருவருடன் அவருக்கு உறவிருந்ததாகவும், பாக்கிஸ்தானைச் சேர்ந்த மருத்துவர் ஒருவருடன் காதல் கொண்டு உறவு வைத்துக்கொண்டதாகவும் பல்வேறு அருவருக்கத்தக்க பிரச்சாரங்களை ஊடகங்கள் ஒருமித்து மேற்கொண்டன.
அதிகாரவர்க்கமும் ஊடகங்களும் டயானா என்ற பெண்னை எவ்வளவிற்கு எவ்வளவு தரம் தாழ்த்தினவோ அவ்வளவிற்கு அவளவும் அவரின் மக்கள் மத்தியிலான செல்வாக்கு வளர ஆரம்பித்தது. சிறிய தீப்பொறி காட்டுத் தீயாக மாறியது போன்று டயானா பிரித்தானியாவில் கதாநாயகியானார். அது உலகம் முழுவதும் வியாபித்தது.
திட்டமிடப்பட்ட அவதூறுகளையும் கடந்து டயானாவின் செல்வாக்கு மக்கள் மத்தியில் வளர்ந்ததற்கான காரணம் என்ன?

மகிழ்ச்சியற்ற திருமண வாழ்க்கைக்குள் வாழ்ந்த பெண்களின் விவாகரத்து என்பதே சமூகத்தால் நிராகரிக்கப்படும் நிலையிலிருந்த போது டயானாவின் துணிச்சலான அறிக்கைகளும் நேர்காணல்களும், அரச குடும்ப ஒடுக்குமுறைக்கு எதிராக அவரின் நடவடிக்கைகளும் பிரித்தனியப் பெண்களை ஈர்த்தது, தமது துயரத்தை டயானா பேசுவதாக அவர்கள் எண்ணினார்கள். அரச குடும்பம் இனிமேல் ஒரு மாதிரி அல்ல அதன் வழி வந்த டயானா தான் தமது மாதிரி என்று ஆயிரக்கணக்கான பெண்கள் எண்ண ஆரம்பித்தனர்.
டயானா குறித்து ஊடகங்கள் ஏற்படுத்த முனைந்த விம்பம் தொலைந்து போக பெண்களின் மனதில் தங்களின் மீட்பர் போன்ற விம்பம் உருவானது.
டயானாவின் மரணத்தின் பின்னர் வெளியான ஊடக ஆய்வு ஒன்றில் ‘காதலற்ற மண வாழ்க்கைக்கு அடங்கிப் போவதை நிராகரிக்கும் பெண்ணாகவே டயானாவை பெண்கள் கண்டார்கள். தம்மை டயானா போன்ற ஒருவராக உருவகப்படுத்த எண்ணினார்கள்.’ எனக் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டது.

இவ்வாறு பெண்கள் மத்தியிலும் ஜனநாயக வாதிகள் மத்தியிலும் டயான குறித்த நேர்மறையான விம்பம் உருவான பின்னரும் அவதூறுகளைத் தொடர்ந்த அதிகாரவர்க்கம் டயானாவை புரட்சிகரச் சிந்தனைகளுக்கு எதிரான தற்காலிக சீர்திருத்த வேலைகளுக்குப் பயன்படுத்திக்கொண்டது.
வழமையாகவே தன்னார்வ நிறுவனங்களைப்(NGO) பயன்படுத்தி மேற்கொள்ளும் வேலைகளை டயானாவின் புதிய விம்பத்தின் ஊடாக அதிகார வர்க்கம் மேற்கொண்டது.
உலகின் ஒரு மூலையில் கண்ணிவெடி அகற்றிய டயானா, மறு நாள் கண்ணிவெடியால் காலிழந்த குழந்தைகளிடம் நலம் விசாரித்தார். புற்று நோயாளர்களைச் சந்திக்கிறார். எயிட்ஸ் நோயாளிகளுக்கு ஆதரவு கோருகிறார். வறுமையை ஒழிக்க வேண்டும் என்கிறார்.
ஆக, அதிகார வர்க்கம் எண்ணியது போல டயானாவை தற்காலிக சீர்திருத்தத்தின் விம்பமாகப் பயன்பட்த்திக்கொண்டாலும், அவர் குறித்த நல்ல அபிப்பிராயம் அவர் எதிர்பர்காமலேயே உலகம் முழுவதும் வளர ஆரம்பித்தது.
இதனால் தற்காலிகமாக சில காலங்கள் அடங்கிப் போயிருந்த அரச குடும்ப கிசுகிசுக்கள் டயானாவை அதிலிருந்து அகற்றி சேவைசெய்யும் பெண்ணக்கியது.
அரச குடும்பத்திலிருந்து தனிமைப்படுத்தப்பட்ட டயானாவிற்கு ‘பிஸி’ யான விம்பம் ஒன்று உருவானது. இதன் பின்னர் டயானா அரச குடும்ப விவகாரங்களில் தலையிடாமலும் காதல் விவகாரங்களில் ஈடுபடாமலும் ‘விம்பத்தைக் காப்பாற்றிக்கொள்வார்’ என அதிகாரவர்க்கம் எதிர்பார்த்தது.
இவ்வாறான விம்பத்தைப் பயன்படுத்திக்கொண்ட டயான தனது புதிய காதலர் டோடி அல் பயத் என்ற இஸ்லாமியரோடு பொதுவான இடங்களில் தோன்ற ஆரம்பித்தார். இப்போது பிரித்தானிய அரச பரம்பரையப் பாதுக்காக்கும் அதிகார வர்க்கம் மறுபடி விழித்துக்கொண்டது. அவதூறுகளால் இனிமேலும் டயானாவை அழித்துவிட முடியாத அளவிற்கு டயானாவின் மக்கள் மத்தியிலான செல்வாக்கு வளர்ந்திருந்தை அறிந்துகொண்ட அதிகார வர்க்கம் அவரை முழுமையாக அழித்துவிடவேண்டும் என்ற முடிவிற்கு வருகிறது.
பரிஸ் நகரின் அதிஉயர் மேட்டுக்குடிகளின் உல்லாச விடுதியான ரிட்ஸ் ஹோட்டேலிலிருந்து டோடி அல் பயத்துடன் வெளியேறி காரில் சென்றுகொண்டிருக்கும் போது டயானா, கார் சாரதி, டோடி அல்பயத் ஆகியோர் மரணித்துப் போயினர். டோடி அல்பயத்தின் தந்தைகுச் சொந்தமான ரிட்ஸ் விடுதியில் சாரதியாக வேலைப்பார்த்த ஹென்றி போல் அதிகமாக மது அருந்தியதாலேயே விபத்து ஏற்பட்டு டயானாவும், டோடியும், ஹென்றியும் மரணித்தனர் என வழக்கை முடித்து அனுப்பிவைத்தது பிரஞ்சு ‘நீதித்துறை’ . டோடியின் தந்தையான மொகமெட் அல்பயத் இந்தத் தீர்ப்பை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளவில்லை.. பிரித்தானிய உளவுத்துறையும் அரச குடும்பமும் இணைந்து நடத்திய கொலை இதுவென வெளிப்படையாகத் தெரிவித்தார்.
ஆரம்பத்தில் டயானாவின் மரணச் சடங்குளில் கூடக் கலந்துகொள்ள மறுத்த பிரித்தானிய மாகாராணி இறுதியில் கலந்துகொள்கிறார். தேசியக் கொடி அரைக்கம்பத்தில் பறக்கவில்லை. மீண்டும் ஊடகப் பிரச்சாரங்கள் டயானாவைக் கடவுளாக்கின. டயானாவிற்கும் அரச குடும்பத்திற்கும் சிறிய ஊடலே முரண்பாடுகளுக்குக் காரணம், என்ற பிரசாரத்தை ஊடகங்கள் ஆரம்பித்தன.
டயானாவின் மரணத்தின் பின்பு 16 வருடங்கள் தொலைந்து போய்விட்டன.
இப்போது வெளியாகியிருக்கும் புதிய சாட்சி வலுவான ஆதாரங்களை முன்வைத்திருக்க வேண்டும்என்றே கருத இடமுண்டு. மக்களின் அபிப்பிராயத்தில் மாற்றங்களை ஏற்படுத்தவல்ல நிகழ்வு என்பதால் விசாரணை நடத்தப்படுகிறது என்கிறார்கள். ஆனால் எவ்வாறான சாட்சித் தகவல்கள் வழங்கப்பட்டது என்பதை வெளியிடமுடியாது என்கிறார்கள்.
டயானா காலத்தில் அரச பரம்பரையின் பாதுகாப்பு அமைப்பிற்குப் பொறுப்பாகவிருந்த டே டேவிஸ், தகவல் வெளியான உடனேயே தொலைக்காட்சியில் தோன்றி டயானாவின் மரணம் விபத்து என மூன்று வேறுபட்ட விசாரணைகளில் தெரியவந்துள்ளதாகவும் கொலை என்பது ஏற்க முடியாது எனவும் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
எது எவ்வாறாயினும் அரச குடும்பத்தின் தேவை அதிகாரவர்கத்திற்கு இன்னும் அவசியமானதாகவிருப்பதால் அவர்கள் மீண்டும் புனிதமாக்கப்படுவார்கள்.
எந்தப் பெறுமானமுமற்ற டயானா என்ற உயர்குடிப் பெண்ணை பாலியல் நோயாளியாகவும் கதநாயகியாகவும் மாற்றி இறுதியில் அதிகாரவர்க்கமும் ஊடகங்களும் கொலை செய்துவிட்டன.
