There is no clarity in your statement. it needs little more in details and simple ways and then only ordinary folk can understand what you are trying to say to the public.

Mines and Mining companies exist all over the world, including the developed countries. Lands are / were bought or given to these companies in a democratic and fair manner. Property rights of the landowners are secure in liberal democracies with free markets. But India lack these frameworks, esp in practise, while in theorical law, some provisions exist.

Arundhadhi Roy is ignorant of many subjects but speaks out freely in cliches and gross generalisatons about many subjects. Can ALL MNCs in India be classified under the same manner ? Yet, she holds forth against MNCs. This internet site is being hoisted and read thru the technology and service provided my MNCs like Intel, IBM, etc. Millions of products and services from MNCS are being routines used by all of us, incl Roy without any compunction.

and she hold forth against LPG in general. She is an ignoramus of the highest order about economic histroy, esp about the balance of payments crisis in India in 1991 ; and its root causes and solutions.

Yes, the Indian state is corrupt and terrible violations occur routinely ; there is state terror. and counter terror by the so called Maoists. but that is one area of concern. Sweeping statements and gross generalsatiosns about anything and everything under the sun are the hallmark of ignoramus.

and can she and the Maoists answer the following :

1. suppose if the Maosits win their ‘war’ and establish a Maoist govt all over India ; then will they stop mining and never ever grab the lands of tribals ? or will they expel the people enmasse into other regions if they protest in the new state ?

2. All these privatasiations and MNCs are post 1991 issues. Until then there were govt mines and govt PSUs which were mining for decades. and they too displaced people by thousands. what about the past then ?

3. The Maoists aim is ‘revolution’ and they use the land issue as an excuse for their ‘war’ ; will they stop their murders, if the land grabs are stopped ? unlikely. and instead of attacking the MNCs companies and their resources, why are they killing police and innocents located hundred of miles away from these mines ? why no ‘suicide attacks’ (like the LTTE) on the MNC Regional HQs, etc ? the answer is the Maoists lack the motivation for all this and are a hit and run mafia type gang who have become fasicists and extortionatists. Their methods are NOT the solution to any problem or injustice.
